Doziac is an experience.
Doziac started as the brain child of lead guitarist and singer Bryan "Pazn" Paisan and
bassist Rodney "Buffalo" Castro in 2012. Finding each other through social media, they began
writing material together in Bryan’s apartment in Washington Heights. In 2013 they
released their self-produced debut EP, “What Do We Do?” Receiving praise for it’s
pop influences and catchy melodies, it was time to bring the music to the people.
The duo began playing open mics and shows around New York City as well as being
part of the Punk Island festival, using a laptop to play drum tracks.
In 2014 while Doziac was playing a show in Brooklyn, the band caught the eye of
drummer Isaac Acosta. Isaac was looking for a band to play, and figured they could
use a drummer instead of a laptop. Thus the first full lineup of Doziac was created.
With Isaac’s punk and grunge influences, Doziac’s sound started to enter a new
mixture of punk and grunge style music, with poppy melodies. With the new version
of Doziac they released two singles. The first being “Brick wall”, recorded at Mama
Coco’s Funky Kitchen, the second being “Jamziac #1” a collection of jam sessions
recorded at their rehearsal space.
During 2015, Doziac began writing material for their full length album. Looking to
fill out the band sound, in 2015 they added Phill Ortiz as a second guitarist. Now
becoming a four piece, their sound has become a mixture of progressive and punk
rock.
In 2016 the lineup played a numerous number of shows, including
venues such as Muchmore's and the Knitting Factory, and have played as part of
Halal Coma’s Halal-eluja Fest. In July 2016, they played at the renowned Apollo Theater.
After the show Phill and Isaac left the band to become Pokemon Masters.
As the 2017 comes to a close, Doziac is focusing on
finishing their new EP titled "LAMESTREAM," which should be out later this year
